Reflections Upon the Mixing Bowl

Last Updated on December 17, 2025 by LookingUntoJesus

Psalm 66:8-9 NIV – I read that verse, and this came to mind -> Matthew 14:30-31

Psalm 26:2 – God does painfully show us -> Isaiah 64:6.

Isaiah 26:16 NIV – I can relate with this, a good indicator, in addition to discerning the situation is when God disciplines us so hard, that we barely have anything left to even say (Psalm 46:10).

Psalm 118:18 NIV – it is important to know when the Lord disciplines us, and not to just look at matters with a natural lens (Eph. 1:17).

Job 1:1 – “blameless” “upright” “he feared God” “shunned evil”

Gal. 1:4 – God’s mind is very abstract to come up with that. He can handle our “impossible” situations

Gal. 1:12 – start relying on Christ to reveal matters

John 8:12 = Acts 9:3-5 NIV + Phil. 1:21

Joshua 6:5 + John 8:47a NIV – God understands the outline of the situation. Like a bird’s eye view (John 8:23 NIV -> Isaiah 55:9)

Joshua 6:10,16,20 – timing is important

Joshua 6:19 – “sacred to the Lord”

Joshua 6:24 – do you want to be God’s vessel to use and through Christ, add to the spiritual value of the church?

Joshua 7:1 + Matthew 6:24 – using the church’s payroll out of the flesh and not being mindful in regard to the Lord’s will, purpose and design (Matthew 6:19, Luke 12:15, Luke 9:23 + John 15:5)

Joshua 7:7-13,25 + Matthew 6:25 – self-inflicted errors that impacts the spiritual livelihood of the church.

Joshua 7:15 NIV – “outrageous thing” – yes……

Matthew 10:32 – we can work on this

Joshua 5:6, Mark 8:17 – I want us to stop, and think about this. If Jesus were to ask us this question, what would would we say? After attempting to show us something, for a while. To reflect. For example: I am making more time in my day, usually before I begin to do most of the stuff in a day, to sit there and be quiet, let the Lord empty out what doesn’t belong (John 2:8). I want us to keep focusing and refocusing on what Jesus is saying in that verse, in a personalized way to you, what must you need to see or understand, from Christ? -> Eph. 1:17 NIV

Mark 14:6 – what beautiful thing can we do for Christ? What unspiritual occupied possession of ours that has consumed our time and resources, can we let Christ occupy, instead? For example: I have given up a lot of my time spent on my smart devices, to whisk spiritual food with Christ for His people, instead (John 6:27). Doing something similar, can really conform your mindset with the Holy Spirit toward a different way of seeing God’s people. We have to be willing to make that effort with the Holy Spirit’s leadings, in Matthew 8:3, Jesus is willing to help.

Luke 12:6 – With the Holy Spirit, let’s create good memories for Christ

John 3:21 – if we tell the Lord to carry out His will in our lives, He will show us things that only His light, could reveal, that no other outward illumination could measure up to. His light can hurt but there’s something of His light that also adds His Life in the process, that is an added spiritual feature that draws us closer and makes Christ increasingly more irresistible to be with.

John 21:17 – yes sir!

Matthew 13:31 – a seed is suppose to grow, let’s partner with the Holy Spirit to grow people’s spiritual lives

John 2:4 NIV – do you experience part of this response?

Luke 2:8 NIV “living out” – reading + practicing the Bible at night time and wanting to help God’s people, needs to be more of a desire, pray this; I believe we can do more for His people, here

Jonah 2:4 + Hebrews 12:2 = interesting?

Jonah 2:7 + 2 Cor. 4:16 = interesting?

Jonah 2:10 + Isaiah 55:8-9 = interesting?

Jonah 1:6 – does this sound familiar?

Matthew 5:1 – yes, ministry is important and His people are important but following His leadings are more important.

Mark 8:27 – I make reports to the Lord about people who are diminishing the Lord’s Name. I remember, a very long time ago, I expressed to the Lord my grief about a situation, and the Lord communicated to me that He would notify that person parts of the Parable of the Tares and Matthew 7:21-23. God can also take these additional actions, like in Mark 7:33, when people aren’t listening, so that they do listen.

Luke 1:46 – can we do this?

John 4:32 – finding that spiritual manna will make people grow so rapidly, like a decade worth of spiritual growth over two-three digits worth of days (Matthew 13:23). That stuff is very hard to find. So much power. Satan of course will clobber that person so hard like you won’t believe, I’ve seen a person get hit so intensely because he had a Spirit-led ministry. His children were in devastation, seeing what happened to their dad.

Matt. 6:33 – there are other more important matters than worldly stuff

Matt. 1:23 – when we think that God isn’t with us, remember the word Immanuel -> God with us

Luke 12:34, Mark 7:6 and Matt. 17:8 – when we pray, when we read God’s Word, when we go to church, is it for “Jesus only”? The word Jesus includes members in the Body of Christ.

Matt. 5:6 – we are becoming like this, more dependant on Him for survival. End with John 1:16.

Mark 13:33 – this is very important

John 3:30 – notice how God’s people can be negatively impacted, when our self-life increases?

John 5:44 – something here

Mark 8:33 and John 14:21 – this is pretty evident, when people are admonished, using God’s Word, and how they + their friends react.

Luke 6:27 – okay

John 1:16 and Mark 1:12 – there are spiritual benefits, when it comes to going through difficulties, the Holy Spirit is intelligent, taking actions with us and for His Church with a generational mindset (Psalm 33:11 NIV + Eph. 4:12-13), that does lead to life -> abundant life -> “to the full” (John 3:6, 10:10).

Matt. 5:4 – we can work on comforting people’s sadness

Neh. 4:2 – we need the living Lord to build-up His living church; otherwise, it’ll be unfinished and in rubble. Avoid opinions that the Spirit doesn’t bear witness to, through much spiritual discernment and prayer. Having people there who are gifted with spiritual discernment can be helpful.

Neh. 4:6,19 – praying for a deep heart all-in desire to build-up the Body of Christ is a very good thing. This really needs more prayer. I don’t want us to see our eternal ledger of time, one day, and realize that we could’ve did more for His people, myself included. We are at a very important time in history. It’s time to be willing for Him, change our ways with Christ to pursue His agendas for us. If you look at Neh. 4:8-10. God’s people needs to be united, praying for each other, carrying out His Word (Sword of the Spirit), be there for each other, not ignoring His Word in practice, etc.

Neh. 4:16 – “were equipped”

Neh 4:18 – you have to use God’s Word, readily, like you are about to unsheathe a sword, when building-up the Body of Christ, with His leadings. -> 2 Tim. 4:2. That’s why telling people to read the Bible is important.

2 Tim. 2:21 – pay close attention to this. There is a heavy emphasis on “purge”, what has Christ identified with you that must go? Example: hating, wasting time, etc

Psalm 16:8 – “set” what are your settings right now?

1 Kings 18:37 – a good desire, to ask in prayer

Lev. 20:26 NKJV – the way we communicate to God can be holier, not like “yoyoyo”

Gen. 5:24 NKJV – sometimes when my sister talks, I think about this

Hosea 10:12 NLT – I like this

Psalm 119:9 NKJV – yes

Lev. 11:44 NKJV – “you shall be holy”

2 Chr. 35:3 NKJV – Matt. 11:28 NKJV

Deut. 10:8 ESV – “carry the ark”

Phil. 4:17 NIV – having a desire to want people to grow into a spiritual surplus and not treating ministry, as a clock-in and a clock-out career

2 Cor. 9:10 NKJV – “multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”

2 Cor. 3:18 NIV – “are being transformed”

James 1:21 NKJV – “lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness.”

Col. 1:25 NIV – “present to you the word of God in its fullness.”

Phil. 2:30 ESV – avoid the path of least resistance

1 Thess. 2:4 NIV – remember? Avoid the mixture of saying flowery things, only.

1 Cor. 3:5 ESV – “the Lord assigned to each.”

1 Samuel 3:21 – “there He revealed Himself to Samuel through His Word.”

Deut. 29:29 – He loves to share His higher thoughts.

1 Chr. 29:11 – just how truly great this life can be, the overall magnificence of the sunlight by day and the splendour of the moonlight by night; unbeknownst that the Lord was by our side, making everything beautiful in His time (Ecc. 3:11).

Eph. 4:1 ESV – I realize how much I prefer being with His people. Reading the Bible. Talking to God. I can’t do without.

Jonah 1:2 – even if people may not like what is said, if Christ is glorified, as an outcome, it’s worth being said.

John 8:31 – a good reflection

Isaiah 56:7 – we should pray for churches around the world

2 Samuel 7:13 – the tone of endurance

2 Chr. 20:6 – ask Him to use His powers for spiritual fruitfulness, in context of scriptures, example: “Dear Lord, use your powers to inspire people to come to church, thank you, in Jesus name!”

2 Chr. 29:5 – a good verse, Proverbs 3:7 -> Psalm 119:60 -> 2 Cor. 7:1 -> 2 Kings 18:6 -> Isaiah 1:19 -> John 14:15

Jer. 9:24 – ‘what are you bragging about?’

Micah 6:8 – there is so much unlocked powers, when we depend on Christ, we yield our mindset to His, there’s so much that can be accomplished, like the miracles in the Bible, when we let God go about His ways in us, as God + the Holy Spirit did with Christ. Sometimes we see that miracle, and we don’t draw the connection that it involved our prayer life sounding from the heart, a humbleness like Jesus.

Romans 14:17 – trying to give Christ His place, in a church life, while integrating His life and what the Word says -> expect there to be a riot, it’ll feel like being hit by a folding chair, in a wrestling match, when the referee isn’t looking, people be sneaking hits.

Phil. 4:5 – a needed reminder

2 Samuel 10:11 – something I think about, if we as members in the Body of Christ were all there for each other, what would all churches look like?

Isaiah 43:7 – the words here are so excellent

Isa. 61:3 – if God held a mirror to us and compared us to the spiritual stature of Christ. What part isn’t conformed to His image? Let’s work on that so that we can spiritually construct together, by His Spirit; the building-up of the very image of the Body of Christ.

2 Cor. 13:5 – think about this

Ezekiel 36:27 – every single word is beautiful

Luke 22:31-32 – “Dear Lord, please pray for me, thank you, I ask in Jesus name.”

Eph. 1:19-20 (NIV) – I like this translation, a different way of thinking about His power

Phil. 3:10 – do you? I ask myself that

Luke 22:29-30 – “conferred”

Exodus 33:18-19 – wow

1 Peter 4:13 – “overjoyed”

Hebrews 2:10 – “pioneer of their salvation”

Joshua 6:16 – the NLT, if you think about it, imagine if the Lord gave us Vancouver, we just need to apply His leadings, to get there.

Psalm 103:19 – I like how this sounds

Psalm 93:1-2 (NIV) – “armed with strength”

Exodus 14:31 – “the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against”

Col. 3:1-2 – challenge but worth working toward

John 17:21-23 – let’s cooperate

Psalm 90:1 – in many ways, we experience this verse sentimentally because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Gen. 22:9-10 – “they came to the place of which God had told him” are we on the same journey of His roadmap (Luke 15:17)? What is our inward spiritual condition (the words used in that Luke verse are important)?

Acts 4:13 – very very interesting

Gen. 2:21-24 and John 19:34-37 – neat?

Gen. 12:8 – ask yourself why, why would God inspire someone to do this and what is God attempting to accomplish. Why go through all these lengths and widths? Fast forward, the outward ears listens to too much non-Christian instructions, so round and round the children of Israel went…… 40 years in the wilderness…..

Exodus 19:5-6 – meant to bring forth spiritual value, my gosh not stuck in sinful practices but designed for so much more for His Kingdom.

Isaiah 35:8 (NKJV) – a nice verse

Jude 1:20-21 – this sounds like a script from a commercial you would hear, walking past a tv in Heaven.

Psalm 84:5-7 – I like this

John 3:6 – I have come across a very specific human-individual in my life, where I could tell that this person was anointed, I could tell that through this person, the Spirit was literally replicating Himself in so many people’s lives, effortlessly and profoundly. People even attended the same place that he ate breakfast and spent so much time with him because they felt something so living from the Lord that they never knew could exist. A ministry like that began very humbly, without much resources at all, and the Lord sustained that calling of his to so many languages, even after he passed-away.

Matt. 25:14-30 and Zech. 2:10-11 – something I think about, did I multiply what I have been entrusted with? Did I use that allotted time to bring about a negative or positive balance for His Kingdom? The Bible isn’t all about saying nice things, there are sobering warnings that need to be seriously considered. This carries much spiritual weight -> 1 Peter 5:8; 1:13 (ESV) and 2 Tim. 4:5.

John 17:24 – Where are you, right now, in your life? I find that the time that the prodigal son spent wandering, apart from the Father, can be a narrative we often find ourselves in this world.
